ABSTRACT
This study is a systematic treatment of the tribe Cichorieae (Asteraceae), excepting the genera <em>Hieracium</em> and <em>Prenanthes</em>, in Virginia. Data were obtained from the literature, from examination of specimens from eleven herbaria, and from observations and collections made in the field. All counties in Virginia were visited during collecting trips in the spring and summer of 1971. Keys to genus and species, descriptions, and ecological data are presented for each of the twenty-six species of the Cichorieae treated.
