The rarity of fourteen species of plants in the Coastal Plain of South Carolina is considered in light of recent collections. Many of these taxa are thought to be rare, but the evidence presented here indicates that they may simply be overlooked. One state record and nineteen county records, two of which are South Carolina Coastal Plain records, are listed below.
