The 8th annual Richard and Minnie Windier Award has been presented to Bruce A. Sorrie, Brian Van Eerden, and Mary Jo Russo for their paper titled “Noteworthy Plants from Fort Bragg and Camp MacKall, North Carolina,” which appeared in Castanea 62(4):239-259. The Richard and Minnie Windier Award is a special SABS merit award for the best systematics botany paper published the preceding year in Castanea. The award was established in 1991 by Dr. Donald R. Windier of Towson University as a memorial to his parents.
