Dr. Joe E. Winstead, Professor of Biology and Dean, College of Science and Technology at Southern Arkansas University, received the Elizabeth Ann Bartholomew Award on March 31st, at the annual meeting of the Southern Appalachian Botanical Society (SABS). This award, which honors Elizabeth Ann Bartholomew’s untiring service to the public, to plant systematics, and to SABS is presented to individuals who have distinguished themselves in professional and public service that advances our knowledge and appreciation of the world of plants and their scientific, cultural, and aesthetic values, and/or exceptional service to SABS. This year’s recipient has excelled in each of these areas!
