Notes on Vascular Plant Families In The Great Smoky Mountains

In many, and probably most, given areas, certain plant families will be lightly represented. Although the 126 Smokies families are represented on the average by about 11 entities, 38 of these families have but a single representative while 18 other families in the same area carry but a single genus, each with two or more entities.
