The authors recently collected Aneura sharpii H. Inoue & N. Miller and Brachythecium plumosum (Hedw.) BSG in Louisiana. Both species were found in Catahoula Parish on the south side of Sicily Island, an isolated, deeply dissected Tertiary upland of pine-oak forest with beech and magnolia in ravines and sandstone outcroppings along streams and slopes.
