A list of trees and shrubs found in a 15,000-acre, second-growth forest in eastern Kentucky is compared with a similar list compiled from a 262-acre virgin forest approximately 25 miles away. The second-growth forest was logged about 1920, and portions have been burned several times, the most recent severe fire being in 1955.
