Two species of vascular plants, Lyonia mariana and Mentha pulegium, are reported as new records for the flora of Alabama. The L. mariana record helps bridge a long-recognized distributional gap between eastern and western populations of the species in the southeastern United States. The M. pulegium collection represents the first documented record of this non-native species from the Coastal Plain of the Deep South.
