The shrub Lindera melissifolia (Walt.) Blume, an endangered species previously known from only twelve populations in the southeastern United States (Kral 1983, Currie 1985), has been found locally abundant within a limited area in the Delta Region, ca 6 miles northeast of Cleveland in Sunflower County.
