Book Review: Natural History

This quite general book on nature is a very complete one. Dr. Pimentel begins his study with the universe, then takes the earth, and proceeds through its atmosphere, its geomorphology, and its geological materials. The living organisms are then considered, along with their taxonomy, characteristics, and “natural history.” This part of the book is quite well illustrated, and should serve as an excellent start for the beginning naturalist. The book ends with a group of chapters on ecology of various types, bringing the whole realm of nature into focus.
